Today I decided to hit up one of my favorite vintage stores. I'm lucky in that it's right up the street from where I live and not so lucky in that it's right up the street from where I live (those of you hard core vintage shoppers will know what I mean, lol). I, of course, had to wear one of my new jewelry sets:
Once I got to the store, the first thing I noticed was this sparkly cocktail ring the owner made out of a vintage pin:
You know, this store is one of my favorites because it's not a "boutique" where everything is all beautifully displayed with beautiful huge price tags. It has a ton of nice and beautiful things, yes but there's so much of it that the most fun is digging through the piles to find the real treasures. Don't believe me? Here's just one part of the store:
And here's another small angle:
Where are your favorite places to shop for vintage?

ReplyDeleteoh wow, that's quite a lot to dig through!
ReplyDeleteI think you'd love some of my mom's vintage jewelry judging from that ring :-)
Wow look at that gorgeous ring! I'm jealous~I recently did a post on I Love Lucy and thought of you when some trivia I found mentioned the title of your blog! Kori xoxo
ReplyDeleteohhh that ring is gorgeous! And you look so cute getting ready to shop! The store looks like a lot of fun! We don't have anything like that. goodwill, salvation army, or stores that charge an arm and a leg for vintage.
ReplyDeleteWishing you also a happy St Patrick's day x
ReplyDeleteOoh i love stores like! Unfortunately theres no shops like that in Oxford so i have to travel to London :(

Hi Maggi! Were you at Sleepy yesterday??? I think I was there cause I recognize your pic!?! I wish I knew that was you - I'd love to bounce some ideas off you! Next time we have to meet up!-Christi ps...I certainly hope you got that ring!
ReplyDeleteHellooooooo Maggi! *waves* So lovely to see you :D
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of that shop - I bet you spend an absolute age in there. Nothing like that near me so have to resort to boot sales and charity shops (think you call them thrift shops?) for my rummaging ;)
I just found your blog tonight and I love it!! This totally looks like the kind of places I love to shop. I really think that when it comes to finding great vintage, the junky and messy looking places always have the best stuff! It's a lot to rummage through sometimes but the hunt is half of the fun!

I dig thrift stores. They don't turn up as many retro finds as vintage shops, but they DO occasionally house some great finds. AND.. for super cheap!!
ReplyDeleteHow clever - making a cocktail ring out of a vintage pin. I love it!! :)
