EDIT: I just wanted to let Miss 1941 of http://miss1941.blogspot.com/ know that I've been totally visiting your blog but have been unable to leave a comment (Some blogs with comments embedded in the page aren't letting me leave comments)! :( Didn't want you to think I haven't been returning your visits!
A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine and I went to a yard sale at one of my favorite vintage-y places, Sleepy Poet Antique Mall. Of course, I couldn't leave without visiting my most favorite vendor, Kitsch-y Cool Vintage. (If you're ever in the area, you have to go to Sleepy Poet and Kitsch-y Cool....you also have to call me so I can go with you. LOL ;) Here's a little bit of what I found:
Some decorating books from the 1950s:
Some patterns (these are actually from a thrift store we went to later):
And this awesome Pyrex coffee pot, complete with burner/warmer:
I actually got a fabulous 50s day dress as well from Kitsch-y Cool but I will save that for another post if I can get the courage to do some pics. lol ;) And that's it for my newest finds. What about you? What are you finding where you live?

ReplyDeleteThat coffee pot is too much!!
ReplyDeleteI've been having that trouble with a couple of blogs lately too Maggi, it does make you feel bad when you can't comment and hope that people don't think they just aren't getting visitors.
ReplyDeleteI do adore that coffee jug, yummy of yum yums!
The coffee pot is divine! I'm afraid I haven't done much shopping - my money seems to need diversion elsewhere! But I love seeing your treasures!

Gorgeous stuff. I can't wait to see your pic--somehow I like the stuff I wear but I never know how to find the cool sort of vintage but awesome things that others are so good at. Plus I'm totally intimidated at those kinds of stores--I feel like they're gonna take one look at me and be all, "TO THE GAP WITH YE, WENCH!" Well, maybe not wench. Who says wench?
ReplyDeleteI love the books, and the patterns! I always think I should start collecting old books and patterns, but I never seem to run into anything good that would make me start a collection... oh well, one day...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun blog! I hope to learn to sew on day! I received a sewing machine for Christmas but still haven't learned how to use it! :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping me celebrate my SITS day on Monday!
