Every Little Breeze Seems to Whisper Louise

Hi everyone!

Now that we are expecting a second daughter come this May, I've been looking through some old family pictures in an effort to find a good timeless name for our new little one. :)

My mom found these pictures of my Great Grandmother Louise who died when I was still quite young but to this day I remember her as someone I loved very much.

I remember she had a coo-coo clock that hung on her living room wall and I just loved it! (Still want to get one of those!) She also had these three ceramic cats on her coffee table. They were all orange, in different poses with green jeweled eyes. I would play with them whenever we went over to her house.

I wish I had known her when I was older. There are so many things I would love ask her! But at least I have these pictures...

  1. I love that Maurice Chevalier song you quoted in the title! I was always jealous of my sister because there's a Dean Martin song called "Susan", but no similar title for "Lisa". What can you do. Such style in these photos! I'm glad you have them to remember her by.

  5. what a sweet blog you have here! Love the old photos. Your grandma reminds me very much of my own great-grandma who took care of me when I was very small. She was a fabulous lady too!~

  6. What great memories of your great-grandmother! Mine was with us till I was about 8, but I still don't remember all that much about her. I do remember that her name was Rebecca, and she was a tiny, neat, and kind woman. I have no doubt that we would have been close as I grew older.

I love the name Louise! Congrats on your coming baby!

  8. My grandmother too had a coo-coo clock on the wall when I was a tiny young child, and for some reason I really liked it. Nearly a half century later, it's still a fond little memory.
