Mine had a little wooden disk that sat down on the bottom, so that the metal blades of the chopper weren't hitting right against the glass. I used it to chop onions. The tea kettle is definitely 80s, and the strawberries were part of the whole country look going on then. I had that same style of kettle in a solid yellow color. I'm glad I've seen this post, because it's made me realize I've never had a tea kettle I've liked as well as that one, and now I'm going to start looking for one.JKayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05508777675700980389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6388161065883950075.post-76368389621080477222010-05-11T11:43:32.151-04:002010-05-11T11:43:32.151-04:00What a great kettle! What a great kettle!Stefanie Valentinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17603185184682401772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6388161065883950075.post-76916309411526064602010-05-11T07:34:54.157-04:002010-05-11T07:34:54.157-04:00I agree that the adorable kettle is probably from ...I agree that the adorable kettle is probably from the 80s, when Strawberry Shortcake was the rage ;)

As for the acetate dress, I don't know that that fabric will hold dye very well...BaronessVonVintagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09329735134543431231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6388161065883950075.post-11369440756541229622010-05-11T00:46:55.922-04:002010-05-11T00:46:55.922-04:00loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee your finds...and i am thi...loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee your finds...and i am thinking the tea pot might be from the 80's too...as strawberries were the rage then!! and sorry...I don't have any tips for the dress!! that is a bummer! :(Julie Tucker-Wolekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16120580254018653082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6388161065883950075.post-13782774084285329032010-05-10T23:57:44.184-04:002010-05-10T23:57:44.184-04:00Love the tea kettle!Love the tea kettle!Francyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17585122575455632885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6388161065883950075.post-42563904800202611512010-05-10T23:32:25.769-04:002010-05-10T23:32:25.769-04:00If the top of the nut chopper is avocado (dark yel...If the top of the nut chopper is avocado (dark yellowy-green) green, then it is probably from the very late 60's to the late 70's. I'm guessing about 1975. (I can't tell true colors on my computer.)

The tea kettle is probably more '80's, but I could be wrong. Things with a strawberry design were a deal for a while. I don't remember painted tea kettles like this from the 60's. They could have existed; I just don't remember them.

About the acetate dress - washing some acetate is iffy so I don't know about dying the dress. Acetate was used to line jackets and skirts that would be dry cleaned. Inexpensive panties were sometimes made from acetate, but they didn't wear very well at all.Packrathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02986387347283221427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6388161065883950075.post-57649192763631724442010-05-10T22:49:01.681-04:002010-05-10T22:49:01.681-04:00Love the tea kettle!
